Biography

Christine King is the elected official for District 5. Christine King has proudly served the community for many years and is known for her passion to serve. Before becoming an attorney, Christine worked as Chief of Constituent Services for a Miami-Dade County Commissioner and later as an executive with the Community Action Agency (CAA). Her career with the county spanned eighteen years. Commissioner King serves as the Chairwoman of the City of Miami Commission, as well as the District 5 Commissioner representing Liberty City, Little Haiti, Model City, Overtown, Wynwood/Edgewater, and the Upper East Side. Christine King has proudly served the community for many years and is known for her passion to serve. Compassion is not partisan compassion is not political. We have to support initiatives like what judge Leifman has done with this facility. It is a game changer and it will help us get to functional zero with our homelessness issues.

I have a reputation of being very strict with public comments just speak for two minutes and that's it and but when she came up I would let her speak for as long as she wanted because she earned that.

It is a shame that this facility is not open so many years later, and it's being held up because we're trapped in some political hell. Compassion is not political, and we need to stop it.

I agree with Gabela that there was a resolution on December 12, 2019, by Commissioner Joe Carollo, resolution number R-19-1705, that pretty much is addressing what Gabela is saying. You cannot have any events without notifying the commission. This is a resolution right here.

If we see your social media, if we see the fact you're having events in district one on the border of district four, without having consulted with the district one commissioner. I find it dishonest for you to say that you're being approached when you are telling people out in the community that you are running for this seat.
